The Client
Everything 420 is an online headshop specializing in accessories and is one of the largest e-commerce websites in the cannabis industry featuring hundreds of products, articles, and fun content for cannabis consumers. Everything 420 has hundreds of thousands of unique visits a month and is constantly refreshes the site content and inventory with new items. This fast growing environment requires flexibility and optimization for every little detail.
Challenges
While developing Everything420 we have faced a few challenges, as it is a large website with hundreds of products and graphics used by a large number of users.
1. Building on an exciting project: we have not created Everything420 from scratch. Working on an existing digital product is way harder than laying the foundations of a project yourself, as it may lack context or documentation, so you cannot make informed decisions, and the code may not be readable and scalable.
2. Performance: Everything420 has a lot of content and features. To make sure its performance is spot on and it does not load slowly, we have applied some optimization techniques. Besides, being a large website it requires constant maintenance.
3. Scalability: ensuring that Everything420 can handle the traffic and data load as it grows has been challenging.
4. Managing inventory: with Everything420, we need to have a robust inventory management system in place to track the products, ensure that they are in stock and manage orders.
5. Handling orders and payments: we have had to make sure we have a reliable system for processing orders and payments, as well as a secure way to handle sensitive customer information.
